Safety & trust

Practical guidance for booking safely, and an honest account of what our verification does and does not cover.

What "verified operator" means

A verified badge means we have seen and checked the operator's CNIC and business registration before the account could publish trips.

It does not mean we have inspected every vehicle, hotel or guide they use. Read the reviews, check the inclusions on the itinerary, and ask the operator directly if something is unclear.

Keep payments traceable

Pay through the collection method shown at checkout, or by bank transfer to the account details the operator gives you in writing after accepting your booking.

Avoid paying cash to an individual before your booking is confirmed on the platform, and never send money to an account that differs from the one in your booking.

Protect your documents

Operators may need your CNIC or passport number to issue permits for the northern areas. Share only what is required for that trip, and only with the operator you booked with.

OnTrip staff will never ask you for a password, a one-time code, or your full card number.

Travelling in the mountains

Roads in Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can close without notice because of landslides, snow or security advisories. Operators build contingency days into most itineraries, but schedules can change.

Check the forecast, carry a warm layer even in summer, and tell the operator about any medical condition in advance — altitude above 3,000 m affects people differently.

If something goes wrong

Report the trip, operator or review from the relevant page, or email us with your booking reference. Reports are reviewed by our team, and we can suspend an operator's ability to take new bookings while a complaint is investigated.

For anything urgent during a trip, contact the operator first — they are on the ground — then tell us at [email protected].
